With over a decade of teaching experience, Josh Merritt brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his role as a K-8 PE Instructional Coach for Boston Public Schools. Having spent significant time in the classroom, he understands the nuances of effective P.E. instruction and the challenges educators face. His tenure as a Dean of Students further cultivated his expertise in student behavior and school-wide support systems.

Josh is deeply committed to fostering equitable and inclusive P.E. experiences for all students, believing every child deserves access to high-quality physical education. He’s also dedicated to empowering teachers through collaborative coaching (through the use of the Impact Cycle), professional development, and resource sharing, ensuring educators have the tools and support to create engaging and liberating learning environments.

Originally hailing from San Francisco, CA, Josh finds balance and rejuvenation outside of work through rigorous training, immersive reading, and exploring the beauty of nature. His dedication to health and wellness informs his professional approach, making him a well-rounded and effective advocate for physical education and instructional coaching.
