Oliver Caviglioli

Oliver Caviglioli was a special school head teacher for a decade. While a teacher, he learned to combine the skills he learned from educational psychologists with the graphic know-how taught to him in childhood from his architect father. This unique combination resulted in Oliver becoming an information designer, visualizing educational ideas and processes.

He kickstarted the current transformation in teachers’ use of visual explanations with his book Dual Coding with Teachers which was followed by Organise Ideas and The Extended Mind (co-authored). He has also created a step change in how educational books are designed and illustrated, bringing to life the ideas of many eminent education authors.

Over the past two years, he has collaborated with Tom Sherrington in creating the Teaching WalkThrus book series (over 180,000 copies sold) and related PD package that is now in 40 countries.
