Jackie Zimmerman M.Ed.

Jackie Zimmerman serves as Instructional Officer for Secondary Curriculum & Instruction for Katy ISD in Katy, Texas. As an instructional officer, Zimmerman partners with campus administrators and staff to implement and continuously improve the Professional Learning Community process to ensure high levels of learning for all students. Prior to this role, Zimmerman was the Secondary Instructional Coach Facilitator of Katy ISD for approximately five years, supporting the learning of 90+ coaches across the district. In her current role, Zimmerman continues to facilitate the Secondary Instructional Coaching Steering Committee, a group of district and campus stakeholders who focus on ways to advance the secondary instructional coaching program. Zimmerman’s experiences at the campus level include elementary teacher, elementary math curriculum specialist, junior high math teacher, instructional coach, and department chair.

Zimmerman presented Tools for Creating a System of Personalized Learning at Learning Forward’s 2019 Annual Conference, and she served as a panelist for Learning Forward’s 2020 webinar titled Learning from Coaches: Supporting Teams and Individuals. The work of Zimmerman and her Katy ISD colleagues is featured in The Instructional Coaching Group’s book, Evaluating Instructional Coaching. Zimmerman earned both her undergraduate and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. In her twenty-first year of education, Zimmerman believes more than ever in the power of professional learning and is dedicated to engaging in learning opportunities that enhance networking and collaboration among educators to meet the needs of every student.
