“Reading is not simply a desire; it is a fundamental skill necessary for virtually everything we do. And we need to ensure all of us, particularly our children, learn to read and read to learn so they too can do everything” (Moats, 2020). Participants will understand how student data is used in the Student-Focused Coaching model and how this data is used to guide the creation of a sustained professional learning plan to maximize teacher’s knowledge and skills. Whether you are an instructional coach, administrator, or classroom teacher, you will learn about and experience evidence-based interdisciplinary literacy routines (i.e., academic vocabulary, comprehension) that can enhance student learning.
