One of the biggest challenges you can face when you are an instructional coaching is answering a simple question: What is it that you do? Every coach can come up with a quick answer to that question, but capturing the rewarding, unpredictable, challenging, and incredibly important work of coaching is a much more difficult description to create. To help create a rich, accurate picture of instructional coaching, Jim has been partnering with coaches from around the world (Germany, Thailand, Abu Dhabi, and the United States). Every week, and often every day, the coaches have been sending Jim videos in which they talk about their successes and challenges as they coach. This presentation will be a mosaic of their comments, summarized in key themes that should provide an honest and helpful description of what it is like to be an instructional coach. All of us at ICG hope this presentation helps you feel like you have been seen and that you are not alone. There are thousands coaches living the work life that you live. This presentation tells their story and, in part at least, we hope it tells your story too.
