REBECCA FRAZIER, Ph.D., is the coordinator of a K-12 school district coaching program entitled Teachers Coaching Teachers located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She holds a master teacher certificate and professional principal license in Colorado, is a National Board Certified Teacher, has completed a master’s degree from Colorado College in Integrated Natural Science, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Her doctoral research included a qualitative and quantitative study dedicated to answering the question, “What makes an effective instructional coach?” Her upcoming book, The Joy of Coaching: Characteristics of Effective Instructional Coaches is based on that research and will be published by Corwin Press in 2019.
Her years as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach, trainer of instructional coaches, and facilitator for coaching program development have provided her with a multi-tiered perspective of the coaching process. Rebecca sees coaching as the “go to” professional development strategy that when delivered with warmth and power can inspire joy and professional success for both coaches and teachers.
