Summertime is just around the corner and if you’re anything like the educators we’ve spoken with you probably know exactly how many days are left in the school year!
These next few months offer a great opportunity for educators to spend time with friends and family, enjoy relaxing mornings at home, and recharge those batteries that have been going all year long. For some, it’s also a great time to catch up on some professional learning that there may not have been time, resources, or bandwidth for during the school year.
The Instructional Coaching Group has a full schedule of available workshops and other PD opportunities throughout the rest of the summer for anyone interested in learning more about the following topics before next school year. Click on any of the workshop links listed below to register.
Evaluating Instructional Coaching
1-day virtual workshop
$450.00 per person
June 23, 2022 | 9:00am – 3:30pm CST
August 19, 2022 | 9:00am – 3:30pm CST
Instructional coaching positions and programs are often created quickly and with a sense of urgency, which often means that the issue of how to evaluate coaches and coaching programs becomes an issue later on in the process. Trouble ensues when instructional coaching positions and programs do not have a clear focus from the very start regarding what constitutes “success” and how to evaluate it.
This workshop aims to address one of our most frequently asked questions: how to evaluate coaches as employees and how to evaluate coaching programs around best practices in both coaching and best practices in human resources. This workshop can be tailored to focus on particular elements of evaluation, as well as practice for evaluators in using our tools and resources.
The Impact Cycle
2-day virtual workshop
$595.00 per person
July 14-15, 2022 | 9:00am – 3:30pm CST
Based on The Impact Cycle (2017) by Jim Knight, this virtual workshop describes the coaching cycle process for instructional coaches. All teachers, schools, and classrooms face their own unique challenges. An established process for guiding the coaching experience ensures that instructional coaches have all of the tools they need to help teachers set and achieve their goals for students.
The Impact Cycle—the product of 20 years of ICG research—provides a framework for any classroom coaching scenario. Participants in this workshop will learn why the cycle is successful and will gain experience using it through examples and guided exercises.
1-day virtual workshop
$395.00 per person
August 4, 2022 | 9:00am-3:30pm CST
Better Conversations is one of the most popular workshops we offer. Based on the book Better Conversations: Coaching Ourselves and Each Other To Be More Credible, Caring, and Connected, the workshop offers an intensive exploration of six Better Conversations Beliefs and ten Better Conversations Habits that can help anyone communicate more effectively at work or at home.
Tens of thousands of educators around the world have read the book and attended an event. However, as powerful as the workshop is, the real impact of the book and workshop happens when people apply the Beliefs and Habits to their professional and personal lives. Improved communication is a concept that is best learned through application, and this virtual workshop provides an opportunity for just such an experience.
