I was deeply honored to be invited to present at Sage Publishing’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, “Stories of Research to Reality: How the Social Sciences Change the World,” held in Washington D.C on May 15, 2015. Prior to presenting, I was told that my presentation should be similar to a TED Talk, and that since there would be many people from Senators’ and Congressional Representatives’ offices attending the celebration, that I should speak about the topic I thought was most important for legislators to hear. Below is my 14-minute presentation about the complexity of learning and professional development.
You can hear a lot more about professional development, coaching, teaching, leadership and so much more from an amazing line-up of presenters at this year’s Teaching, Learning, Coaching conference. Just some of the presenters include: Joellen Killion, Chip Heath, Randy Sprick, Pedro Noguera, Elena Aguilar, Christian Van Nieuwerburgh, Peter DeWitt, Stephen Barkley, Kristin Anderson, Nancy Love, Ray and Julie Smith, Lisa Lande, Jamie Almanzan, Kathy Perret, Ann Hoffman, Michelle Harris, Sharon Thomas, and Tricia Skyles.
