Introducing Time on Task, the first iPhone application designed by the Instructional Coaching Group to assist you in classroom management and observation recording.

This initial release offers a variety of features designed to enable simple and accurate observations of time on task.
Key features include:

• An easy-to-use, touch-sensitive, timed interface for recording accurate, consistent observations
• An automatic data management tool for creating pie charts depicting the percentage of students on task during single observations
• An automatic data management tool for creating bar graphs depicting changes in the percentage of students on task over multiple observations
• A communication tool for emailing charts and graphs to teachers immediately following observations.

Teachers can learn a great deal when coaches, administrators, and fellow teachers observe their classrooms. One important variable to be observed in any class is the number of students who are engaged in learning, which is commonly referred to as time on task. This is an important variable to observe because, simply put, the more students who are on task, the more students who are learning.
